Dear Year 2 Families,

The term is flying by, and a lot has been happening!

Think–Pair–Share

This term we have been practising a strategy called Think–Pair–Share. Students are encouraged to take a moment to think about a question, share their ideas with a partner, and then contribute to a group discussion. This approach has been fantastic for building confidence, listening skills, and giving everyone a voice in our classroom.

Numeracy

In Mathematics, we have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes. Students have enjoyed identifying shapes in the classroom, discussing their properties, and even creating shape-based artwork. We encourage you to keep the learning going at home by spotting shapes in everyday places – from road signs to packaging!

Book Week 

Book Week was a huge success! We were so impressed with the effort students (and families!) put into their costumes. From wizards and superheroes to classic storybook characters, our classrooms were bursting with colour and creativity. Thank you for supporting this special day and celebrating a love of reading with us.

Upcoming Excursion: Myuna Farm

We are very excited for our excursion to Myuna Farm this week. Students will have the opportunity to see and interact with farm animals, learn about rural life, and connect with the world beyond the classroom. 

We are looking forward to a wonderful day of learning and discovery!
