Sunday 19th October - 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time
This Sunday, our Church celebrates the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time. In the Gospel, we read about a time when Jesus spoke to his disciples and told them “that they must always pray, and not give up”. For us today, this means to not lose heart when we are faced with challenging times in our lives, and to keep persisting, praying and having faith in how we can be supported by God each day.
Gospel Reading: Lk 18:1-8
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke
Jesus told his disciples a parable about the need to pray continually and never lose heart. ‘There was a judge in a certain town’ he said ‘who had neither fear of God nor respect for man. In the same town there was a widow who kept on coming to him and saying, “I want justice from you against my enemy!” For a long time he refused, but at last he said to himself,
“Maybe I have neither fear of God nor respect
for man, but since she keeps pestering me I must give this widow her just rights, or she will persist in coming and worry me to death.”’
And the Lord said, ‘You notice what the unjust judge has to say? Now will not God see justice done to his chosen who cry to him day and night even when he delays to help them? I promise you, he will see justice done to them, and done speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find any faith on earth?’

Congratulations!
A special congratulations to two of our Year 6 students, Summer and Alyssa who celebrated their First Eucharist with their families during the school holidays. May the Holy Spirit continue to bless both of you as you journey through your faith.
Month of the Rosary
The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, one of the best known of all Catholic devotions. The Rosary draws its mysteries from the New Testament, with each decade referring to an event in the lives of Jesus and Mary.
The Mysteries of the Rosary
The Joyful Mysteries are taken mostly from Saint Luke’s Gospel in the New Testament. They involve the joyful events of Jesus’ childhood; The Annunciation, The Visitation, The Nativity of Jesus, The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, The Finding of Jesus in the Temple.
The Luminous Mysteries (Mysteries of Light) bring a deeper understanding to the public life of Jesus. From the childhood of Jesus and His ministry; The Baptism of Jesus, The Wedding at Cana, Jesus announces God’s Kingdom, The Transfiguration, Jesus Gives us the Holy Eucharist.
The Sorrowful Mysteries remind us of how much Jesus loves us. They recall how He suffered and died for us; The Agony in the Garden, The Scourging at the Pillar, The Crowning of Thorns, The Carrying of the Cross, The Crucifixion.
The Glorious Mysteries tell us what happened after Jesus died-His Resurrection, the Descent of the Holy Spirit and the love Jesus had for his Mother; The Resurrection of Jesus, The Ascension of Jesus, The Descent of the Holy Spirit, The Assumption of Mary, The Crowning of Mary.
