From the Principal

As we come to the close of Term 3, it’s clear that this has been another vibrant and rewarding term at Northcote High School, filled with opportunities for our students and a wonderful sense of community engagement.
This term we saw our students and families come together for a number of important fundraising and social events. The World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser was a huge success, raising both funds and awareness for a very worthy cause. Our Friends of Northcote Comedy Night, held just last week, was another highlight bringing families together for a night of laughter while raising funds to support the upgrade of our outdoor areas. These upgrades will be shaped by the valuable feedback some families recently provided about the kinds of spaces they would like for their children.
It has also been a great Term for our middle years students, with many preparing for international trips that are departing to Borneo, China, and Italy over the next week. These experiences provide incredible cultural and learning opportunities, and we are especially grateful to the staff who give their time to accompany and support these programs.
The social life of our senior students has also been celebrated this term. Three weeks ago, our Year 12s enjoyed a memorable Formal, a wonderful occasion to mark their final year together and celebrate their friendships and achievements. More recently, our International Student Dinner was held at a local restaurant, providing a warm and festive opportunity to connect with our international students, celebrate recent birthdays, and reflect on a successful term.
Over the past fortnight, we held our Parent Student Teacher Conferences (PSTCs). Thank you to the families who participated and to our staff for the thoughtful feedback provided it is a valuable time to reflect on progress and set goals for the remainder of the year.
We’ve also begun our celebrations of student achievement, with the Senior Art and Design Show drawing a strong turnout of families, staff, and friends. It was a pleasure to see such a high standard of creativity and innovation on display. We look forward to further showcases of student work in Term 4.
As we move towards the final term of the year, there is much still to look forward to, including several major celebratory events. I hope that all students, staff, and families enjoy a restful and safe break. I look forward to welcoming you back in Term 4 to continue celebrating the achievements of our students and our community.
