Clean Up The School Day

On Friday 22 August, we (some year 9 Leaders), ran a project we’re really proud of - Clean Up the School Day.
We wanted to show our peers how keeping our environment clean directly impacts the wildlife around us. To do this, we created a short Connect lesson that we delivered to all Year 7 and 8 classes, before challenging them to head out and clean up their part of the school grounds.
The response was incredible. Year 7 and 8 students worked together, filled bags of rubbish, and made a real difference to our school environment. We were impressed by the teamwork, the effort, and the positive energy students and teachers brought to the day.
To make things a bit more exciting, we added a competition, the class that collected the most rubbish won a pizza lunch. It was great to see how much pride everyone took in the challenge, and how determined they were to do their bit for the school.
We’d like to thank all the teachers for supporting us, and the Leaders who helped on the day. Most of all, thank you to every student who got involved. Together we’ve shown how small actions can create a big impact, and how, when we work as a team, we can make our school cleaner, greener, and better for everyone.
