Colour Run & Sportsathon

We’re Almost There!

Excitement is building for our Colour Run & Sportsathon on Monday 27 October atWalter Street Reserve — a much-loved day of fun, colour and community spirit, and our major fundraiser for the year to help cover the cost of the newly refurbished basketball courts!

We’ve already raised $25,059.75 toward our $40,000 goal — thank you to everyone who’s supported so far! Lets keep going — every dollar helps us reach our goal.  This Friday, students who haven’t yet registered online will receive their Fun Run wristbands at assembly as part of the Wristband Competition. Parents can scan the QR code to sign in (or create a profile) and enter for a chance to win a $500 Prize Credit. The competition closes 11am, Wednesday 22 October.

To keep everyone fueled on the day, we’ll be holding a Pie & Sausage Roll Day. Lunch orders will be delivered directly to Walter Street and can be placed via CDF Pay —please order before Thursday 23 October.

Event Day will include Tug of War, Sprints, Sack Races, Beat the Teacher, WheelbarrowRaces, and of course, the super fun & messy Colour Run — plus a few brave teachers getting slimed and a special visit from Chase the Cheetah!

Fundraising Awards

We’ll be celebrating fundraising efforts on the day with prizes for:

  • Highest Fundraising Class – class prize
  • Highest Individual Fundraiser – Fun Run Champion 2025 (cape, trophy + prize)
  • Winning House – bonus House Points toward the end-of-year Cup

Grandparents and Special Persons Day

We invite all children to bring a Grandparent/s or Special Person/s to school with them in the morning.

The schedule for the morning is -

  • 8.30am  - 8.50am Grandparents & Special People arrive at school with children and spend time in the playground.
  • 8.50am - 9am Grandparents & Special People gather in hall for school leaders welcome. Children attend classroom.
  • 9am - 10am Grandparents & Special People in classrooms with children.
  • 10am - 11am Morning tea in hall and outside for Grandparents & Special People.

For safety reasons, MACS requires that all visitors to the school are registered. We will be asking all Grandparents & Special People to write their name and phone number on one of the clipboards that will be located outside the hall and around near the canteen on arrival.

In recent years we have had over 300 Grandparents & Special People attend the morning.  Due to such large numbers attending, we ask families to plan ahead and consider the extra traffic and parking that we anticipate will occur on the morning. Note, parents are not required to stay for the event.

For planning purposes, please complete the RSVP for your Grandparents and Special Persons using the Google Form by Sunday 26th October.

The Grandparents & Special Persons morning tea is provided by the Parents and Friends Group.  We would love some parent helpers for the morning to help set up, serve and clean up after the morning tea. If you are able to help, please let us know on the Google Form.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be on again and open before school.

We look forward to welcoming all the Grandparents & Special People to the school again this year.
