Visual Arts Senior - week 7

The year 3&4 students were getting messy in the art room last week. We made donuts out of papier mache glue, newspaper and paper towel. When they are dry we will be painting them to look like the real thing.

The Grade 5&6 students have finished their dragon eye drawings and will soon be making some dragon eyes out of clay to take home as well.

🎭 Foundation Drama – The Robot Three Little Pigs

Our Foundation students have now completed the Three Little Robot PigsDrama unit

Over seven lessons, the children explored how to use their voices, facial expressions and movements to not only bring robot characters to life but also regular pig and wolf characters. They practised acting in groups, experimented with emotions and worked together to retell the story of the Three Little Pigs, section by section, in a fun robot and or regular style of acting. Throughout the unit students made reflections and celebrated at the end by drawing their favourite acting moment

🌟 I was so impressed by their creativity, confidence and teamwork throughout this journey, and I hope they enjoyed exploring drama as much as I enjoyed watching them shine! 🤖🐷🐺✨

🎭 Level 1 & 2 Drama – Our Level 1 and Level 2 students have been busy rehearsing lines and dance moves for our Voices on the Farm (Level 1) and Roar at the Zoo (Level 2) plays.

🌟 Level 1 – Voices on the Farm

Our Level 1 students had a fantastic time exploring characters in their play Voices on the Farm. Through activities like becoming sad sheep, silly chickens, angry pigs, and happy horses, they discovered how to use their voices, facial expressions, and movements to show emotions in fun and imaginative ways. Their performances so far have been full of energy, laughter and teamwork, and I’m so proud of the confidence they showed on stage! 🐑🐔🐷🐴✨

🌟 Level 2 – Roar at the Zoo

Level 2 students really shone in their play Roar at the Zoo, where they brought to life sad penguins, frightened monkeys and angry elephants. They experimented with voice projection, dramatic movement, and character emotions, showing both creativity and maturity in their performances so far. It has been wonderful to see their teamwork and enthusiasm grow each week, and section by section their final performances have a true celebration of their skills. 🐧🐒🐘🎭

I have been recording the performance sections and will continue to do so. The final video will be shared in class, hopefully before the end of term.

I have been recording the performance sections throughout the unit and will continue to capture the remaining scenes. A final video will be compiled and shared with the students in class, with the aim of celebrating their hard work together before the end of term. 🎥🎭

Performing Arts - Senior

Lots happening in our middle and senior classes in Performing Arts!

The 5 & 6’s have been busy finishing off their acting and filming of their TV Drama Advertisements. It’s been fantastic to see the creativity behind some of the Ads and from next week, students will begin their editing process of their videos in iMovie.

The 3 & 4’s have been put into their small groups within their classes and given drama role play scripts. Some scripts are well known stories, such as Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and the 3 Little Pigs. It’s been wonderful to see collaboration and cooperation at work as the groups rehearse.
