New Roblox Feature
Computer games and their drawing power is huge. I fully understand why
many students are drawn to screen time. There can be action, immediate feedback and an adrenalin rush.
I thought it a good idea to share with families a new feature of Roblox that I came across this week. The popular game Roblox currently has an element that is attracting children to login at midnight so that they can gain greater ‘rewards’. I have included links to two articles below that explain this and I encourage you to be aware of how your children may be accessing screentime, and as always, consider how they, and you, manage screen time in your household. It may even be worth an open discussion with them regarding the topic.
Division Athletics Carnival
Next Monday our students will be representing our school at the Division athletics Carnival at the Meadow Glen Stadium. We wish them all the very best in their events and I look forward to sharing results with you next week!
Year 2 Healesville Sanctuary Excursion
On Wednesday our year 2 students visited the Healesville Sanctuary. They put in an order for perfect weather and it was delivered. The children were able to see a variety of animals and will be using this information to help them write information reports in the coming weeks.
Replacement of Unwell Staff
We are currently having trouble finding enough casual relief teachers on days when we have high teacher absence due to illness. This is a problem still faced by many schools and we always try to avoid splitting classes when we have staff shortages but this has been a huge challenge during the cold and flu season. We ask that if your child is unwell that you please keep them home to reduce the spread of illness in our community. Hopefully this will also reduce the number of staff that become unwell and are then absent.
Special Footy Day Lunch
The 🏉Footy Day Hot Dog Lunch 🌭 is back by popular demand!
PFA volunteers will be blasting out footy anthems as students collect their pre-paid hot lunch from the canteen window.
