Mr Thornton, Ms Sculley and 2025 School Captains

School Captain Address

As our last full term as school captains comes to a close, we’ve all taken a moment to reflect on the journey so far and what this term has meant to us. It’s been a time filled with highlights, responsibilities, and a deep sense of gratitude for the chance to serve our college community.

For us, one of the standout moments was the college production. Watching our peers bring so much energy, talent, and teamwork to the stage was truly inspiring. It reminded me of how much creativity and passion exists in our school, and how the arts give everyone a chance to shine in their own way. Being able to support and celebrate our cast and crew was such a privilege.

This term also gave us the opportunity to be part of R U OK? Day, was a powerful reminder of the importance of looking out for one another. As leaders, we’ve seen firsthand how vital it is to check in with our peers and create a culture where people feel supported. It was moving to see the college come together in such a meaningful way.

We were also fortunate to welcome Cassandra Fernando, our Federal MP, on the last day of term. To have her visit, engage with our school, and hear about the incredible things happening at CESC was a proud moment. It showed us the importance of the connection between schools and the wider community, and it was amazing to represent our college alongside her.

Of course, next term holds new challenges, with exams and the final stretch of our schooling ahead. It’s a daunting but exciting time, and as captains, we know it’s about finishing strong — not just for ourselves, but for the legacy we leave behind. We are proud of the journey so far, and we’re ready to see out our final term as leaders and students of CESC with the same spirit and determination that has carried us this far.

Sincerely, your School Captains,

Simon, Harsha, Jonathon & Rupali
