Library Update: Donated Books

We wanted to share an update on the library’s activities this term. You may have noticed that our usual programming and new initiatives have been a bit quieter, that’s because your library team has been busy supporting several key school projects outside of the library.

Mr Matthews and our Library Technician, Ms Lee, have been involved in a range of activities, including supervising students at musical performances at the Opera House, contributing to the school website, attending Year 6 camp, and assisting with the design of this year’s yearbook. This collaborative work is vital to the ongoing success of our school community.

That said, classes have continued to enjoy their regularly scheduled library lessons and borrowing sessions throughout the week, ensuring students still have access to resources and the chance to develop their love of reading and research.

We mention this because we know many students are eagerly awaiting the donated books they purchased. Please rest assured that this is a top priority for us, and we will distribute the books to students as soon as these additional commitments are completed and we can return our full focus to the library next term. We also have a variety of new and donated resources set to join the collection soon.

A Huge Thank You

We also want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible library volunteers. Our ability to step in and assist with these other important tasks would not have been possible without their dedication. Their help has been invaluable this term, as they have worked behind the scenes to keep our space clean, organised, and welcoming. From checking the status of and shelving books to ensuring the library remains a functional and inviting place for everyone, their contributions have been the backbone of our work throughout the term.

We are truly grateful for their generosity and time, and we are so happy to have them as part of the library team.

Scholastic Rewards

We want to extend a massive thank you to our entire school community for your incredible support of our Scholastic Rewards program.

Because of your orders, we have earned an amazing $1,177.63 to spend on brand new books for our library! This is an incredible achievement and will allow us to refresh our collection with exciting new titles for our students.

Your continued participation makes a real difference. Remember that every book you purchase through Scholastic earns our school 15% of the sale, which directly goes back into new resources for our students. Please continue to use your Scholastic magazines when they come home, as every little bit truly helps.
