News from Year Three

Word Problems
This term, our students have been working hard on solving word problems using multiplication, division, and now addition and subtraction. They have enjoyed breaking down the problems step by step and learning strategies to show their working out. We then explored long addition and subtraction, which the students found really exciting! It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practised solving more challenging equations.
3D Shapes
In mathematics, we have also been exploring 3D shapes. Students have enjoyed identifying different shapes in their environment and describing their features such as faces, edges, and vertices. This hands-on learning has made geometry both fun and meaningful.
Information Reports
In English, we have been focusing on information reports during our daily shared reading. The students have loved learning fascinating facts about Australian animals, from kangaroos to echidnas. We will continue this work into next term, where students will get the chance to research and write their very own information reports about an Australian animal of their choice.
Netball Clinic
The students have shown incredible teamwork, encouragement, and sportsmanship. It has been inspiring to see how supportive they have been of one another and how much their skills have improved with each session.
