Brigidine Campus News

As we gear up for the end of what has felt like a fast paced and short term, there is much to celebrate.
At Brigidine Campus our Year 12 students are about to embark on their finals days of secondary school. With this in mind we encourage them to continue to work hard, strive for their best and push through utilising all of the support that is on offer to them.
Year 12s - don’t forget all that you have learned regarding study and your wellbeing. Here are a few reminders to keep you on track:
- Set clear goals - this will help you be more focused and feel a sense of achievement at the end of each study session.
- Create a study planner - block out time for wellbeing! Exercise, family/friend time and lots and lots of study!
- Past exam papers. Past exam papers. Past exam papers!!
This week at Brigidine we celebrated R U Ok? Day. Students were encouraged to wear a splash of yellow and to start a conversation with those around them.
Year 12 students were able to engage in a fun physical activity to boost their wellbeing when they faced off against the staff in a competitive game of dodgeball. Alongside this were many yellow cupcakes baked by our very own Hands on Learning Cafe - what a way to share a cupcake and to start a conversation that can change a life. We thank Mrs Vanessa Mahoney and Ms Matilda Chisvo for their support in coordinating the cupcake making.
What’s in focus at Brigidine?
Safe and appropriate yard play.
It would be appreciated if families can continue the conversation with their child at home about St Joseph’s being a ‘hands off’ school. A reminder of ‘a time and a place’ for certain types of play.
Appropriate language.
All students were addressed last week about appropriate language and the resulting harm that can be caused when racist, sexist, ableist and so on language is used. It would be appreciated if families can reiterate this message at home in an effort to educate our children.
As the sun begins to shine and the days continue to become longer I wish all a wonderful last week of Term 3 and a safe and happy holiday break to students and families alike.
I thank you for your continued support in all that we do as we work together to guide our young people.
