Season of Creation Diocesan Celebration

Recently, a group of our students and staff attended the Season of Creation Diocesan Celebration, joining with schools and parishes from across the region to reflect on our shared responsibility to care for our common home.

Guided by the key scripture from Isaiah 23:14-18, which speaks of a “garden of peace”, the celebration invited us to pause, breathe and recognise God’s presence in creation. It was a call to nurture the earth, protect its beauty, and walk gently on the land so that future generations can also enjoy its abundance.

This year’s Season of Creation feels particularly tangible in our own community. Driving through the region, we are surrounded by fields of golden canola, the soft blossoms on the trees, and the unmistakable feeling of newness that spring brings. These living reminders speak to the heart of the celebration - that creation itself reflects God’s love and invites us into relationship with the world around us.

As a College, we continue to seek ways to deepen our understanding of ecological justice and to live out our commitment to caring for our common home. The diocesan gathering was an inspiring reminder that we are part of a wider community working together to bring about hope, renewal and peace.

St Joseph's College Op Shop

Did you know every 10 minutes 6000kg of clothes are put into landfill in Australia alone?!

Here at St Joseph's College we aim to live more sustainably and make a positive difference in our society. Thrifting your clothes is a great way to save money and save the environment.

Next week, from Monday 15 - Friday 19 September, we will be running a St Joseph's College Op Shop during lunch in the College Hall at our Brigidine Campus and in the Presentation space at Kildare Campus.

Students and staff are asked to bring their unwanted clothes to Student Services for donation this week. Items should be clean and in good condition.

These clothes will be available to purchase for a bargain price through our Op Shop.

All money raised will be going to St Vinnies to support people in need.

We are so excited to be offering this service again and we need your help to get our shop filled with clothes!

Thank you to all the students and staff who have already supported this initiative.
