Transitions
Many of our Grade 6s spent Tuesday at Crusoe College as part of their transition to secondary school. They came back full of excitement about the new classes and teachers. The Crusoe teachers made a point of letting us know how well-behaved, polite and engaged our students were throughout the day. Such great feedback - they should be proud of themselves; it really shows the kind of young people they’re turning into.
As the end of primary school gets closer, it’s clear how ready they are for the next step. Around the school they’ve continued to show real maturity. We’re confident they’ll finish the year on a high - proud of who they are and ready for what’s ahead.
At the same time, we’ve been welcoming next year’s Preps for their transition sessions, and they’ve been just as impressive! It’s been lovely seeing their enthusiasm and confidence grow each week as they get to know their teachers, classrooms and new friends. Watching our oldest and youngest students take these big steps side by side really sums up what our school is all about - belonging, growth and looking out for each other.
Our Diverse Community
At Golden Square Primary School, we value the diversity of culture, ethnicity, and faith of all our students. We are proud of our diversity, and everyone is welcome at our school.
Celebrating the diversity of our community makes us stronger, kinder and more innovative. We are committed to making sure that students from all backgrounds feel accepted, supported and able to learn.
We teach all students according to our school values and teach the respectful relationships framework. This includes education around diversity and inclusion.
To achieve our values and aims, everyone at Golden Square Primary School plays an important role.
We continually remind students of our values of Respect, Safety, and Learning and the importance of using these in everything we do.
To help us make Golden Square Primary School a place where everyone feels welcome, respected and supported, we encourage you to also speak to your child about these values, as well as the importance of:
- understanding that we celebrate diversity and multicultural inclusion
understanding the importance of everyone at school being treated with respect.
