2025 ICAS Competition

We are very proud of the efforts of our students in this year's ICAS Spelling, Writing and English competitions. We had a huge number of students participating in the competitions and striving to do their best. Many students received special honours for achieving Merit, Credit, Distinction or High Distinction awards. The Distinction and High Distinction award winners were recognised at last Monday's Year 3 - 6 assembly.

Scholastic Book Fair

It was terrific to host another Scholastic Book Fair in our school library over the third week of this term. Students from across the school visited in large numbers and took delight in perusing the enormous array of books that were available to purchase. Many students took the opportunity to select books from the Fair to take home and add to their personal library.

The Book Fair is always a great way to expose the children to a variety of different reading genres and authors. Look below to see some of our Year 6 students' favourite reading materials, authors and book recommendations:

I love reading novels, especially the School for Good and Evil series by Soman Chainani. If you're into fantasy and action and you're a senior primary school student I highly recommend this book series.

I have enjoyed recently reading the book title 'One of Us is Lying'. It is a very eventful and mysterious book. I would recommend this book for senior primary school students.

I enjoy reading mainly fiction books. The series called My Royal Story is really interesting and I especially like the title Anne Boleyn and Me by Alison Prince. It's cool because it is a fictional story based on real-life events. This could be a great series for students in Year 4 onwards.

I highly enjoy reading the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. The stories always involve a lot of magic and fantasy! This could be a great series for students from Year 3 onwards.
