In The Classroom

Maths

What a fun way to learn and practise our times tables. Students played the game Land grabber. Ask your child how to play! We also looked at measuring the perimeter of objects and places around our school. Did you know that our basketball court has a perimeter of 80 meters

Literacy

These last 2 weeks, we have been focusing on the skill of summarising, identifying key points to provide an accurate outline of a text.

Writing

This week we have looked at using speech marks correctly in our own writing and not overusing it. We looked at words other than 'said' to enhance our uses of dialogue and emphasise meaning.

Inquiry

The war on waste has been interesting for all our students as we learn where different items end up after people have thrown it out. We looked at where plastic ends up and 'fast fashion'. Students will need an old t-shirt in 2 weeks to make a tote bag as we learn how to recycle and reuse old clothing.

Edendale Farm Excursion

Our excursion to the Edendale Farm is on the 11th November. Students are required to be at school by 8:45 am as buses are leaving at 9am sharp.

  • Students will need to bring lunch in a small backpack, a drink bottle and a hat.
