Mrs Melissa Thirgood

Dear Families,

Over the past fortnight, our Year 2–6 classes have participated in the Making Jesus Real program – a values education initiative that encourages students to live out the teachings of Jesus through their everyday actions and reflections.

When Mitch from Making Jesus Real visited our Year 3 students, he spoke about noticing the Spirit of Jesus in the little things we do and say each day, because those small acts can truly make someone’s day, every day. He then invited the girls to reflect on moments when they had seen the Spirit of Jesus shown by others in their lives.

Below are some of the beautiful 'Spirit of Jesus' moments shared by our Year 3 students, along with the Gospel values they reflect:

  • When Evie helped Penny after she jammed her finger in the iPad tub – Kindness
  • When Stella noticed I needed help with my worksheet and offered to assist – Thoughtfulness
  • When Maddie said "thank you" to my mum for driving us to dancing – Gratitude
  • When Summer always greets me with a smile each day – Welcoming
  • When I was feeling cold and my cousin Mia gave me her jumper – Generosity
  • When Grace, Penny and Poppy shared their money to buy some slime – Sharing
  • When Neve helps me pack up each day and Sophie gives me a hug – Friendship

Reminder: Hair expectations

Please see a reminder of our hair expectations outlined below. These are taken from our Uniform Handbook, which is available to view on our website here

  • Hair should be a natural colour, off the face and tied back if it grows below the collar.
  •  Hair accessories include sky blue, chocolate brown or bottle green ribbons and hairbands.

We thank you in advance for supporting our hair expectations and refraining from sending your child to school with multicoloured hairclips, hairbands or accessories.
