Discovering Chilean birds at the Spanish Club

On Monday at the Spanish Club, we enjoyed a very fun and educational activity about Chilean birds.

Catherine, one of our Spanish Club volunteers, introduced us to different types of birds that live in Chile. She explained their features, colours, and habitats. The children learned interesting facts about species such as the Andean condor, Chilean flamingo, Magellanic penguin, Patagonian owl, Woodpecker, Black-necked swan, and Crested duck. They looked at pictures to recognize each bird.

After the presentation, we moved on to a more creative part: we made birds masks using paper plates! Each child chose their favorite bird (or hunter) and decorated it with feathers, colours and lots of imagination. It was a fun activity that allowed us to learn about Chilean wildlife, while practicing Spanish at the same time.
