Specialist Sport Program

Term 4 update

It’s been another busy and rewarding term for students involved in Ballarat High School's Specialist Sport Program, with a range of exciting opportunities and achievements across all year levels.

Our Year 7 students participated in a leadership workshop with the Western Bulldogs Academy, where they developed skills in teamwork, communication, and goal setting. They were also fortunate to hear from Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS), Anna Crispey, who visited the school to share her journey as an elite foil sailor and her ambitions to represent Australia at the next two Olympic Games. Her story encouraged students to stay dedicated and resilient in pursuing their sporting dreams.

Our Year 10 and 11 students have been working hard to complete their VET Sport and Recreation studies for the year. We’d like to congratulate them on their efforts throughout 2025 and wish our Year 11 students the very best of luck as they prepare for their final exam on Friday, 14th November.

This Term has also seen many students representing the community through their involvement in assisting at school sport swimming and cricket carnivals, as well as primary school sporting sessions. These experiences have given students the chance to develop their leadership, coaching, and event management skills while giving back to the wider sporting community.

We’ve also celebrated some outstanding individual achievements, with several students selected in representative basketball squads for 2026, and others earning medals at the SSV State Athletics Championships. These successes highlight the depth of talent, commitment, and passion within our program.

As the year draws to a close, we’d like to thank all Specialist Sport students for their continued enthusiasm and effort throughout the year. We wish everyone an enjoyable break and the best of luck in any sporting events or competitions over the holidays.
