VET Allied Health placement- real world learning

Each Thursday for the past five weeks, VET Allied Health students from the North Central Trade Training Centre have been undertaking Structured Workplace Learning; a compulsory component of their studies.

Alyssa and Shanae undertook their placement at Goodwin Village. During placement, the girls shadowed a range of staff, which gave them insight into many aspects of life at the village. They also provided support with tasks such as planned activities, bed making and assisting with the movement of patients and residents. Alyssa and Shanae noted how beneficial it was to be able to apply what they were learning in their Certificate III studies to a real-world setting. The experience has enabled them to gain insight into the complexities and responsibilities associated with different facets of the health care industry.

Staff at Goodwin Village spoke very highly of both Alyssa and Shanae and their attentiveness to tasks, caring nature, and her willingness to get involved in all day-to-day activities.

Well done to both girls for being such wonderful ambassadors for the NCTTC and Donald High!
