Principal's Message

Dear Families,

It’s been wonderful to see our students return to Term 4 so settled and ready for learning after the school holidays. Classrooms have been calm and purposeful, and it’s clear that students are continuing to build on the great progress made throughout the year.

Every year, the Department of Education releases a School Performance Report for every government school. We are incredibly proud to share that our school has achieved an overall rating of ‘High’ in our School Performance Report. This new measure was first introduced in 2024 and for two years in a row, we have achieved this top rating.

A few highlights of the measure are:

  • Well above similar schools for:

    • % of students with High or Medium relative growth NAPLAN Reading (Year 3 to 5)

    • % of students with High or Medium relative growth NAPLAN Numeracy (Year 5 to 7)

    • % of students with At or Above expected growth in Teacher Judgement Numeracy (Years 1 to 6)

    • % of positive endorsement in Emotional Awareness and Regulation (Years 4-6)

    • % of positive endorsement in Managing Bullying (Years 4-6)

    • % of positive endorsement in Student Voice and Agency (Year 4-6)

  • Above similar schools for:

    • % of students with At or Above expected growth in Teacher Judgment Reading (Years 1 to 6)

    • % of students in Strong or Exceeding NAPLAN Reading (Year 5)

    • % of positive endorsement in School Connectedness (Years 4-6)

    • % of positive endorsement in Stimulated Learning (Years 4-6)

    • Attendance rate

We are so proud that in every category in the Wellbeing measures, we have ranked above all similar schools. Overall, we are one of only 5 schools out of 40 similar schools to reach this ranking which is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of the hard work, commitment, and expertise of our staff each and every day. Our teachers and support staff work tirelessly to create engaging learning environments and ensure every child is supported to reach their potential — this recognition is well deserved.

Very fittingly, last week, we also celebrated World Teachers’ Day, a special opportunity to acknowledge and thank our dedicated teaching team for the amazing work they do. It was heartening to see students expressing their gratitude and appreciation in so many thoughtful ways.

As we move into the final part of the school year, our focus remains on finishing strongly — maintaining high expectations, celebrating achievements, and continuing to foster a positive, supportive school culture.

Thank you for your continued support of our school community.

Warm regards,

Stephania Johnson-Turner
