Last Friday, on the 10th of November, we celebrated Remembrance Day, which was a day for us to remember those who have served and those who have died in all wars and peacekeeping operations.

Remembrance Day marks the date in 1918 when the First World War came to an end. It is officially observed at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month each year to remember people’s service and sacrifice.

Thank- you to the amazing Year Four and Mrs. Shawani, who led the assembly and did a fantastic job. They talked about the importance of Remembrance Day, lowered the flags to half mast, laid a wreath which was followed by a recording of The Last Post. We also observed one minute of silence and heard from Mr. Haines – President of the Toorak RSL Sub-Branch. Planning for 2024 is really taking shape now that we have a good understanding of student numbers for next year. Thank you to those families who contacted the school to informed us of their move. Parents who have let us know of their moving plans have also let us know that they will miss the school. We wish them all the best in the new adventures they take including living in a foreign country, moving to new houses, heading to an independent school or moving to their local neighbourhood school for ease of travel and connecting even more into their local

neighbourhood.

Plans for 2024

With a clearer understanding of student numbers, the school’s class structure, and workforce profile can be refined.  The work involved in these aspects of planning for 2024, at our school, move through prioritizing and addressing every aspect relating to or impacting upon school organisation and overall provision and productivity. Every action needs to support the core business, purpose, and values of the school, with decisions contributing to providing the best possible learning environment for every student at the school in 2024. Class structures and staffing will be shared with the community on the 12th December at our whole school transition day.

As always, we thank our entire community for their continued support and understanding.

Please review our dates further in the newsletter so that you can see our future key events.

Kind regards,

Sharon Wildermuth
