Junior Sports Carnival 

The Junior Sports Carnival was a highlight for the Year 1 this fortnight. There were four fun activities, Egg and Spoon, Sponge and Bucket, Tug of War and Chicken Relay. All students demonstrated great sportsmanship, they were cheering for each other and helped to explain the instructions to each other if one of their peers didn’t understand the instructions. It was a fierce competition between the four houses, it was also great to see everyone trying their best!

Writing

Students have been learning to generate ideas from a seed. They have been focusing on making their writing engaging by using a sizzling start, creative vocabulary and show don’t tell. They have also been revisiting the different text types that we learnt throughout the year, including narrative text, information report, procedural text and persuasive writing. All students have made immense progress in their writing compared to the start of the year.
