As we reach the end of another academic year, it's a time of reflection and celebration. This year marked our centenary, a significant milestone that encapsulates a century of growth, learning, and leadership.

Our journey over the past hundred years has been characterised by continuous progress, embracing diversity, and fostering a community that thrives on shared experiences. In this issue of International In the Know, we highlight some of the key elements that make our school truly special.

Principal Rob French, who continues the legacy of strong leadership that has defined our school over a century, shares the many special moments of our centenary year enjoyed by students, staff, parents, former students and VIPs.

We also put a spotlight on the achievements of our staff and students. Our dedicated EAL staff are instrumental in supporting our international and visiting students. Fay Lancsman is a shining example. Her passion for teaching and her commitment to student success have made her an integral part of our English Department.

One of her students, Tina Qi, shares her story to remind us of the potential and diversity that we embrace and the opportunities our school provides students. Among these opportunities is the chance for students to take part in the annual Kilvington Writers’ Festival, and we are proud to showcase an entry from a Year 9 EAL student (who wishes to remain anonymous).

Special events such as the Year 8 Cultural Day also contribute to students developing a deeper understanding of other cultures and embracing cultural diversity at Kilvington, as does the strong partnership we have with our wonderful schools in Japan, France and China.

It has been an enriching experience for our visiting students, as well as for our Kilvington students to host, interact and shares stories while developing strong bonds and friendship with students from other countries. These interactions provide students with unique opportunities to engage with peers from diverse backgrounds and learn from global perspectives.

And finally, you will read about our Junior School production of Moana, a fine example of Kilvington’s outstanding Performing Arts program.

Cheers to the next century of growth, learning and success!
