Environment Club Updates

This term the Environment Club started working on digging our potato patch. Thanks to generous community donations, we  have received a collection of seed potatoes. After planting them, we can harvest next year to help feed our school community and those in need.

Can you help the Environment Club?

We are excited to be expanding our environment club’s gardening program, creating a hands-on experience that fosters curiosity among our students. However, we need your help!

Do you have old gardening equipment lying around your garage or shed? Shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, or any other tools that could be put to good use? We kindly request that you consider donating them to EDSC.

Your generosity will provide our students with valuable opportunities to develop essential life skills and learn about the wonders of nature. By working with the soil, planting seeds, and tending to plants, they will not only gain a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship but also foster a sense of responsibility and pride. Your support will help us cultivate their passion for gardening and encourage them to explore the beauty and benefits of growing their own food, and nurturing Indigenous plants.

Thank you for your kindness and support. Please note we do not require pots, or plants of any variety at this time.

Stationery Recycling

We set up recycling boxes for pens, empty whiteout containers and markers (in The JLC, 400 Open Area, and Library), it would be appreciated if you drop them in those boxes when they are finished. The more kilos of pens we save from landfill, the more money we can win to improve our school environment. In addition, please drop any batteries, bottlecaps, and bread tags you have used at school or at home, at the Library instead of the general rubbish.
