UPCOMING EVENTS
Mary McKillop Art Competition
In celebration of Australia’s first saint, Mary of the Cross MacKillop, the annual Mackillop Art Exhibition showcases the fine arts from primary and secondary schools in the Diocese of Sandhurst.
The annual exhibition is displayed in the magnificent ‘gallery space’ of the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bendigo and will officially open this year on Friday, November 10 in a special ceremony.
The Exhibition will be open for viewing in the Cathedral on Wednesdays to Saturdays from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm and the public are invited to vote for the People's Choice Award until Saturday, November 25, 2023.
The Exhibition can also be viewed online from Monday, November 13 by visiting www.ceosand.catholic.edu.au.
Congratulations to the following college artists who have been officially selected in this year’s iteration of the MacKillop Art Exhibition: Matilda Kirby, Lillian Richardson, Hina Batool, Sinead McCarroll, Manjot Kaur, Rhiannon Almond, Fatma Ghadban, Flavio Fontana, Lionel Animay, Isaac Lahm and Tyson Thompson.
Below you can view the artists’ exhibited works as well as read their individual impressive statements about their titled pieces.
Ignored by her witless parents, bullied by her sadistic headmistress and gifted with the power of telekinesis, Matilda Wormwood is an extraordinary five-and-a-half-year-old determined in her quest to prove to the world of imbecilic adults just how extraordinary children can be.
Bringing a cast of heroic and dastardly characters together in a tale as weird and wonderful as any of Roald Dahl’s finest, the St Anne’s College Production of Matilda will delight and surprise audiences as it revives favourite songs, dances and scenes from Tim Minchin’s award-winning stage production.
St Anne’s College is proud to present its wacky and fabulous rendition of Matilda over three big nights on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday October 11-13 in the Black Box.
Watch this space for more information about how you can purchase your tickets, with information soon to be provided.
St Anne's College wishes its very own Marian Segrave, Taj Leader and Alick Jarvis all the best as part of the cast in STAG's Fiddler on the Roof, performing at Westside. Opening night is Friday, September 15, with six shows across two weekends.
