Visit from local legend and ascending AFL star,

Josh Rachele

In a spectacular end to yet another action-packed term today, AFL superstar and local legend Josh Rachele from the Adelaide Crows visited the college to meet and greet students and staff alike who proudly brandished their own sporting colours to celebrate Favourite Sporting Team Colours Day.

Warming up with a video showing highlights from Josh’s career to date with the Adelaide Crows, the School of Innovation students avidly listened to Josh during a Q &A session where he talked about growing up in Shepparton, playing soccer and how he fell into football; going on to initiate one of the most impressive entries into the AFL by kicking 5 goals in his very first game.

After signing innumerable autographs and graciously taking fan photos with both the students and for local media, Josh headed over to the School of Wonder for another Q & A with an electrified, younger audience.

Sharing his love, passion, and dedication for sport with the children, Josh discussed his gruelling health and fitness regime, his pre-recruitment zeal for Carlton and his sport-filled school days before signing another multitude of autographs.

Throughout the morning, Josh exemplified the very best virtues of sportsmanship: humble, gracious and inspiring.

St Anne’s College would like to heartily thank Josh and his brother Lucas for attending the college on the last day of Term 3 and for giving the entire community a buzz as it heads-off for a well-deserved break.

Soccer Gala Tournament

Stingers soccer team competed in the Under 10’s Soccer Gala tournament on Saturday.  They did amazing - winning 3 out of their 4 games and making it to the Grand Final.  In the end, they came 2nd but played their little hearts out!
