Who helps in our Community?

Our Class 3 have experienced an exciting time of learning this term! 

For our inquiry unit we have been focusing on ‘Community Helpers’. We have been learning about how different people in our community have different roles that help us. Extending on children’s interests in specific community helpers we have learnt about Rubbish Truck Drivers, Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Post Delivery Workers, Lifeguards, Doctors, Vets, Builders and Teachers. 

Through this inquiry the children have learnt what these community helpers: have, need and are. The children have built their own community-helper vehicles and explored our classroom community 'helper corner'. 

They have also enjoyed drawing the community helper they would like to have and sharing with peers and teachers why they have chosen the role. 

We have loved seeing the interest and own extension of our inquiry unit in Class 3 Blue and look forward to sharing the further learning in our class going forward.
