Information and updates for the whole Emmaus community
You’re invited to tell us what you think!
The Christian Schools Australia (CSA) Christian Schools Community Profile: Parent Survey is now open. As a parent of Emmaus Christian College, you are invited to complete the survey and contribute to this important, national data collection. It’s the only survey of its kind that is specifically designed for Christian school communities.
Conducted amongst all families with children enrolled in participating Christian Schools, the survey aims to gather information about Christian school families such as their: perceptions, levels of satisfaction, priorities and demographic profiles. It also aims to gather data about the ways that families engage, support and interact with their local Christian school communities.
We value your participation in the survey which will assist our College in making informed decisions and highlight opportunities for improvement. Also, it will assist CSA in providing support to strengthen Christian Schools within Australia.
HOW TO ACCESS THE SURVEY
All Emmaus parents will receive an email from Andrew Linke with the link to access the online, anonymous survey. It will take up to 20 minutes to complete.
The survey will close on Friday 22 September 2023.
If you have any questions, please contact Sonia Wood at swood@emmauscc.sa.edu.au
Thank you for your valued input into our Christian school community and Christian schooling across Australia!
On Monday, South Plympton Campus was filled with vibrant colours for our Student-led Culture Day. Students adorned the grounds with streamers and flags representing the rich cultural mosaic of our student body. Dressed in their cultural attire or the colours of their respective flags, students immersed themselves in a day filled with celebration and learning. Pop-up language lessons sparked cross-cultural dialogue, while lively assemblies featured a fun cultural fashion parade, songs sung in students' native languages, and a cultural quiz.
During lunch, students came together to share a sausage sizzle with proceeds supporting the Bible Society. A highlight of the day was an exhilarating World Cup soccer event, where students of different year levels took-on the teachers in a friendly, yet competitive match.
Culture Day was a joyous celebration of the rich diversity we share as a community and the unity we have in Jesus Christ.
We want to thank the talented Year 12 Students who worked hard over many weeks, to organise this fantastic community event!
Thank you to Lucy A (Year 11) for capturing these great images on the day:
Each year, Emmaus Christian College provides a Mock Job Interview Program for Year 11 students. We are seeking additional volunteers to play the role of an employer to interview the students to support them in this important Work Education opportunity.
Students will come prepared to 'apply’ for a job (either one provided or one that interests them) with their resume and cover letter to the interview.
Mock Job Interviews will be held at Emmaus Christian College South Plympton Campus at the following times:
Friday 22 September
8.45am - 11.45am (Shift 1)
12pm - 3.10pm (Shift 2)
Friday 29 September
8.45am - 11.45am (Shift 1)
12pm - 3.10pm (Shift 2)
We will provide supporting materials to interviewers prior to the day and hold a short induction session at the start of the session including some guidelines and question examples to support specific student outcomes.
Volunteer interviewers will carry out individual interviews with 6-7 students and record feedback to assist students in specific areas. Tea and coffee will also be provided.
Please consider supporting our Year 11 Work Education Program.
To register your interest, please fill in the form by Sunday 10 September.

We are so excited to announce that the fundraising goal of $30,000 for the Pitjantjatjara Children's Bible has been reached!
We sincerely thank the Emmaus community, staff and parents for supporting this important project and help raise awareness of this need for a Children's Bible for Pitjantjatjara speaking people
On 14 August, our Senior School Teacher, Neil Blenkinsop arrived at Pukatja/Ernabella after riding a total of 1428km over 8 days to raise funds for the Pitjantjatjara Children’s Illustrated Bible.
Supported by friend/co-rider Phil, his wife Sally and Health/PE & Sports Coordinator Daryl Porter, Neil rode through intense head-winds, rough terrains, dusty tracks and camped overnight in freezing temperatures.
Thank you for your prayers, and support!
We look forward to sharing with you the progress of the bible being completed.

With the many camps held this Term, we would like to remind parents of the school policy regarding medications on camps.
We define 'medication' as products that include: prescription medication, paracetamol, hay-fever/allergy medications, travel sickness tablets, eye drops, ear drops, creams, ointments and alternative medicines such as vitamins and nutritional supplements.
Prescription Medication
First Aid Officers can only administer prescription medication when it is accompanied by a Medication Plan for Prescription Medication completed by a doctor.
Over the Counter Medication
Over the counter medication may only be administered to student when it is accompanied by a completed Medication Plan for Over the Counter Medication with a pharmacy label affixed.
Medication must be provided in its original packaging with a label from the pharmacy attached.
During camp all medication will be kept secure by staff (including Senior School camps). It is for the safety of every student that campers ARE NOT permitted to keep medication in their luggage.
If your son/daughter will be attending a camp in Term 3 and may need to take medication during the camp please ensure that the College has a current Medication Plan, Asthma Care Plan or other Health Care Plan on record.
Health Care Plans must be renewed every 12 months or whenever there is a change in the care needs of your child. If you require a blank Medication Plan or Asthma Care Plan, these can be collected from the Front Office at the College or downloaded from the College website. When completed please return it to Student Services as soon as possible. Please note that Asthma Care Plans must include details of reliever AND preventer medication if your child is on a preventer.
We would encourage you to plan ahead for your child, particularly considering that the hay fever season begins in September and this may affect some students.
Without a current Medication Plan, staff are UNABLE to administer any medication. There is no student self-medication allowed on camps.
Please provide your child’s Health Care Plan, Medication Plan or Asthma Care Plan several weeks prior to camp.
Thank you for your support in this matter.
