Year 8 Visual Arts

Our Year 8 Visual Arts students are exploring 3D forms using clay this semester.

Students have been busy completing their ceramic pinch pot vessels as part of their Assessment Task.

Using hand-building clay and modelling tools students have been learning to manipulate clay, apply surface texture and the pinching method technique, to sculpt a chosen creature for their vessel. Additionally, students are learning about glaze decoration and adding decorative finishes to their vessels. Check out the photos of students in class creating their unique and imaginative forms and who are engaged in learning.

Beauty and the Beast

Year 9-11 elective CAPA students recently attended the Beauty and the Beast musical at Capitol Theatre. All students took a lot out of the day and were privileged to have a Q&A session after the musical where they got to speak to the cast about exactly what it takes to make it in the industry.

Year 10 Music Check In

This term, year 10 Music students have been studying Music for Film, Television and Radio. They have worked to compose their own short piece of music that can be used as a T.V introduction through the notation program, Hookpad. As we move through the term, students have now started to develop their Australian Rock Music performances as they work individually and in ensembles to present a twist to some Aussie classics. Stay tuned for some of these which will be featured in our term 4 MADD night!
