Shark and Ray Centre 

 

Students in Stage 5 Marine Studies attended the Irukandji Shark and Ray Centre on 1st August. They enjoyed learning about the cartilaginous marine animals, what they eat, how they are looked after and prospective careers. 

 

Year 11 Investigating Science  

 

Year 11 Investigating Science students have recently completed a unit on Scientific Models. At the end of the unit, students were tasked with designing and building a model of a simple machine that has been used to make life easier for people. 

 

 

Year 9 – Disease 

Year 9 students have been completing a unit on disease and have enjoyed incubating samples from around the school. They have analysed samples based on types of bacterial and fungal growth and colony size. 

Wetlands 

Year 11 Biology and Investigating Science students attended the Wetlands to learn about abiotic and biotic factors affecting the ecosystem. They looked at organisms living in the area and appreciated the importance of our wetlands.
