Principal's Message

Dear MGSC School Community

You may be aware of recent news reports regarding antisemitic behaviour by a small number of students at Mentone Girls' Secondary College.

Behaviour of this type from students at our school is distressing and deeply disappointing.

This does not reflect the values of our school and we are taking this opportunity to engage with our students to reaffirm our commitment to respect for all.

I want to assure you that the health and safety of our students is our top priority.

We are proud to be an inclusive school for our diverse student population and do not tolerate bullying or antisocial behaviour based on race, religion, or ethnic origin.

Please be assured that Mentone Girls Secondary College will always take steps to address any reports of this nature at our school and students know how to report any issues to ensure that they can be addressed.

If your child witnesses or experiences any incidents of this nature, they should report it immediately to a teacher or their Student Manager.

You and your child may see media outside the school in coming days. If approached, we ask that you do not offer any comment.

As always, the school’s Student Wellbeing Team are available to any students who may need it. You can access this by contacting the Student Manager responsible for your child's year level who will make a referral for you.

You are welcome to contact me directly if you have any concerns.
