Student Representative Council - Student Pledge Against Bullying

Last week in Assembly, our students took a pledge against bullying which was written by the Student Representative Council (SRC). The SRC also interviewed students and staff, asking them, “what can you do to take action against bullying?”

The SRC hopes you enjoy the video below.

Important Uniform Reminders

Transition to Summer Uniform

From next week (Week 8), students have the option of wearing the Summer or Winter Uniform.

The Summer Uniform will then be compulsory from Week 9.

Based on feedback, we are pleased to share that a Secondary School Summer peplum blouse (or over-blouse) for girls is being developed by the Uniform Company. This option is expected to be available for purchase from January 2024. Students will be able to choose to wear either the peplum (over-blouse) or the original blouse (tucked-in).

Jewellery Requirements

Please could you look over the below requirements for jewellery from the Uniform Policy and reinforce these expectations with your child.

Infringements will be given to students who are not wearing the correct jewellery. If students continue to wear incorrect jewellery the items will be confiscated and can be collected by students from the Head of Year at the end of the day.

In Assembly this week, students who were wearing their uniform correctly were awarded a Merit point. We encourage students to be diligent with this and wear their uniform with pride.

Please be advised that the only earrings permitted at school (including school events/functions) are the following:

  1. Pearls (small size) and can be purchased from the College Shop
  2. Thin sleepers (8mm) - gold or silver
  3. Small Studs - gold or silver

Only one earring in the lower lobe and strictly no other piercings are permitted

Infringements can be expected if these guidelines are not adhered to.

Crazy Sock/Hair Youngman House Fundraiser

All students are invited to wear crazy socks and hair on Friday 25 August for a gold coin donation. Youngman House captains will be collecting the money during PC class. All funds raised will go towards the Mater Foundation’s Smiling for Smiddy project.

Father's Day Breakfast

Please refer to the Invitation Section earlier in this publication for further details.

Tour Schedule 2024

We are excited to announce our Tour Schedule for 2024. These tours provide an opportunity for students to experience learning outside of the classroom in a range of disciplines and developmental areas that align with our strategic pillar, Learning From Experiences.

If you are interested in one or more of these tours, please follow the link on the flyer below and submit your expression of interest (EOI). More information about these tours will be shared with you as the year progresses.

Please note that some tours are run by Clayfield, and some are run by external providers. All tours require students to meet a selection criteria that includes behaviour, attendance and academic commitment. Some tours will have their own specific criteria that will be shared once EOIs have been gathered.

For any questions about these tours, or the application process, please email Mr Justin Desmarchelier via jdesmarchelier@clayfield.qld.edu.au.
