PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Lindy Burke

Wow, the term sure is flying by with only 2 weeks left until holidays. Today marks the first day of Spring and some more of that beautiful sunshine. Of course with the sunshine comes the return of hats to our school day.

As a part of our SunSmart Policy, broad rimmed hats are required to be worn from the 1st of September to the 1st of May. So if you haven’t already done so, dig deep and dust off those hats ready for Monday at school. If you find that your child/ren’s hat is lost, too small or is tattered, you can purchase a new one from either the school office or from Hip Pocket.

We have had a busy few weeks with the athletic sport carnivals and of course our amazing Book Week celebrations last week.

Over the last 2 weeks you may have noticed our Easties Bedtime Stories returned on Facebook. Last week a few of our awesome staff shared some of the shortlisted stories and this week, I have shared some of our award winning ‘Book of the Year stories’ read by our little authors. I have included these videos in this week’s newsletter in case you missed them. Of course, these are just a little glimpse of some of the amazing work that our students do here at Echuca East.  Our Book of the Year competition has been running now for 10 years and it is wonderful to see the fabulous collection of stories that our students have created in that time.

Today, the Level 2 students get to share some fun with their Dads or special someone, in celebration on Father’s Day this weekend. Our Dads get to come in and share a sausage in bread and join in some fun with their kids.

See Level 2's page for more images from the afternoon

The Hands on Learning Team have been busy creating and selling tickets to a fun Fathers’ Day hamper raffle, which will be drawn this afternoon. What a great prize to take home to Dad this weekend. Good Luck Easties and stay tuned.

On Behalf of all at Echuca East, we wish all of our Eastie Dad’s a wonderful Fathers’ Day this weekend.
