Interhouse Competition Draw:
Two weekends ago, 27 of our students from Year 7 to Year 12, travelled to Townsville to compete at our 10th NQ All Schools Touch Football Championship. It was a fantastic weekend enjoyed by all students and staff. Our 2023 tour saw our students rally together, allowing us to tour with an Open Mixed and Junior Mixed team. It proved to be a successful weekend for both teams with our Junior Mixed winning the majority of their round games, and being named as Runners Up after playing a tough grand-final against Santa Maria Gilroy College. Our Open Mixed had a successful tournament that saw them play some great footy, showing grit and resilience, as they competed until the final whistle blew in all of their games. They won their first game against Gilroy Santa Maria College and put up a tough fight against the other teams, finishing 4th in their pool. Before returning home, the team had already started analysing their games and developing an improved game plan for our first hit out at the Gold Coast Titans QLD All Schools next term. Overall, it was a fantastic weekend enjoyed by students and staff; we are already excitedly planning for our 2024 tour where we hope to improve once again on our successes.
A huge thank you to Miss Kate Atwell, Mr John Cahill, Ms Leisyle Blanco, Mr Joe Lo Grande, and Mr Lachlan Carey for supporting our students in the lead-up to and whilst at the event. We also wish to thank our sponsors for financially supporting our students in attending this event, including St Mary’s Family Connect, Edge Hill Accountancy and Trevor Morris Builders. I am already excited for our 2024 tour and cannot wait to see what our students can accomplish!

After a thrilling season and an impressive display of skill & grit, the team play their Grand Final against Leprechauns on Tuesday 12th September at 7.15pm.
Though they won their first game against Leprechauns convincingly, their last two matches were close losses.
The team have been training hard to return to their winning form and take out the Grand Final match. We hope to see you there supporting our girls.
