Grade 3

Inform and Empower

The Level Three students learned about keeping themselves safe online in their Term Four Inform and Empower session.

They developed an understanding of changing settings on apps and games to make themselves better protected online, the red flags to be aware of that could be a sign of untrustworthy or unsafe people online, and with actions that they can take if they notice these red flags from others when they are playing or socialising online.

The students watched scenarios to further explain the new information and participated in a live Kahoot to test their understandings, competing with a number of schools across Australia. Some of our partnerships were able to make the top twenty competitors in the Kahoot!

Well done, Level Three!

Wooju -  I know that if anyone asks about your location or if someone asks you to meet them somewhere, that it is a red flag.

Riyan -  If someone online asks questions about you or asks for a photo, that would be a red flag and you should block, report and tell an adult.

Julia - I learned that we can block people online who we think are unsafe, and that we can block our locations on online games.

Clara - It was amazing learning how to be safe online.

Moses - I learnt about cyberbullies and how to lift people up. It was fun!

Jasmine -  I learnt how to tell a trusted adult when I feel uncomfortable online. I really loved it and the people!

Yaseen - I really liked how they included soccer because I love soccer. It really interested me.

Yujin - I found it interesting when they showed us how they used technology and showed me how to be safe online.
