Assistant Principal Report

Julia Bay

It has been a great start to Term 4, and it is hard to believe we are already half way through the final term of the year! As always, there has been a lot happening and there is still a lot to look forward to for the remainder of the year.

Student Highlights

I have been speaking with students from Prep to Level 6 about what has been their highlight so far this term, and you can see from their responses below they have been enjoying the wonderful range of opportunities on offer at our great school!

Zayna Prep W - 'Kew traffic school was so fun because we went on the bus for the first time and it was fun when we learnt how to be safe while crossing roads and we rode a bike!'

Nik 1G - 'I liked the puppet show because it was interesting and taught us all about respect.'

Jordan 2F - 'I really like the Maths games we did because they are fun and we learned some Maths strategies.'

Scarlett 3J - 'I really liked the dance curriculum because we could do all different types of movement and dancing is healthy for you.'

Olivia 4S - 'I loved gymnastics! I want to be a gymnast when I am older. I love doing cartwheels and going on the parallel bars.'

Daniel 5K - 'I have loved PE especially playing soccer. The matches are fun because we play against our friends.'

Siddak 6J - 'My favourite thing has been getting ready for graduation. I loved making my year book and we had to find our baby photos for Mr Johnson.'

New Signage

Recently we have been fixing and upgrading many things around our school buildings and grounds to keep our school looking great. One of these projects has been our new signage and wayfinding which has been put up at the front office and around the school. A major part of this project is celebrating and promoting our school values of determination, pride and success. Make sure you have a look when you are next at the school.

Assessment and Reporting

Term 4 is a big term in terms of assessment and reporting. In line with our assessment schedule, students have been completing assessments focusing on the essential core curriculum areas of literacy and numeracy. These assessments have including PAT Maths and Reading, Fountas and Pinell Reading, SA Spelling Test and Maths and Writing moderations tasks. Teachers will work with their teams to moderate these assessments and use them to finalise student reports, which will be available at the end of term.

I am looking forward to a successful and enjoyable end to 2024.
