Life Education
Over the past two weeks students from Prep to Grade 4 have attended a Life Ed incursion. The Life Ed primary school program promotes students' physical, social and emotional health and wellbeing. Each year level chose a different Life Ed module to complete. A highlight of the program was having Healthy Harold visit the students and share what he does to keep fit and healthy!
Prep students completed 'Safety Rules'
- Recognising safe and unsafe environments
- How to care for others
- Places and people we can go to for help
Level 1 students completed 'Ready Steady Go'
- Identifying how resilience and overcoming challenges can boost wellbeing
- The benefits of physical activity
- Behaviours that promote health and wellbeing
- Strategies to manage feelings and emotions
Level 2 students completed 'Growing Good Friends'
- Identifying the qualities and attributes of a good friend
- Recognising the importance of respectful relationships for wellbeing
- Strategies to seek, give, or deny consent
- People in our network who support and help you
Level 3 students completed 'Friends and Feelings'
- Broadening and developing emotional literacy
- Identifying and practising assertive communications skills
- Practising emotional regulation skills such as mindful breathing
- Skills for building positive relationships with friends
Level 4 students completed 'The Inside Story'
- The benefits of healthy food for health and energy
- Function of the body systems: digestive, respiratory, circulatory and others
- Factors that influence physical health, such as nutrition and exercise
- Practising safe use of medicines
