Catholic Identity

Year of Prayer

In preparation for the Jubilee next year Pope Francis has declared this year as the ‘Year of Prayer’. Prayer is an integral part of who we are as Catholic School Communities. Opportunities for prayer allow all to encounter and build their relationship with God.

God speaks in the silence of the heart.

Listening is the beginning of prayer.

Catholic Mission

On Thursday 12 September Mrs Smith and the School Captains attended the 2024 Catholic Mission Diocesan Launch at St Michael’s Catholic School Thirroul. The Theme for Catholic Mission Month is ‘Go and Invite Everyone to the Banquet’.

Next term students will learn about issues of mission and justice. Students will be empowered to contribute to God’s mission in the world by supporting the work of ‘Catholic Mission’ through prayer, advocacy, and action, including fundraising. During Catholic Mission Month (October) SJB school community will work together to ‘Sockit to Poverty’.

First Holy Communion

Congratulations to the 20 students who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion last Sunday 22 September in the Bulli Parish. We pray that the Eucharist will continue to nourish them on their faith journey and give them courage to be Jesus in the World today. Children were praised for their reverence and participation. We thank Fr Patrick, Fr Anthony, and the Year 3 teachers and parents for preparing the children so well for this significant day. All Year 3 students and teachers celebrated in prayer and with cake this Monday, along with Mr Aguilera and Mrs Duffin.

St Francis of Assisi Liturgy : Monday 14 October at 9:30am

2024 marks the 45th anniversary of St Francis of Assisi being named the patron saint of ecology.

Being so close to the coastline, at St Joseph’s Bulli, we pride ourselves in taking extra steps to care for our Common Home- God’s Creation. We are now in the Season of Creation which concludes on the Feast of St Francis of Assisi (October 4). As this is the school holidays, we are joining together as a Catholic School Community on Monday 14 October 2024 at 9:30 am in the church. Parents, Parishioners and family members are most welcome to attend this Liturgy.
