Prep

Dates to Remember:

  • Friday 29 November: Earth Crusaders In-Visit

Reminders:

Homework

The Preps demonstrated strong homework routines in Term 3 as we saw a large increase in the percentage of students completing their one Mathseeds lesson a week and 4 nights of reading. Let's keep these routines strong in Term 4!

Year 1

Dates to Remember:

  • Monday 28 October: Simple MachinesIn-Visit
  • Tuesday 12 November: Fairytale Theatre In-Visit

Reminders:

iPads

Please encourage your child to charge their iPad each night. We have noticed students have been coming to school and their device is flat. iPads are an integral part to the learning that takes place within the classroom. It is an expectation that students have a fully charged device.

Compass Events

To make sure your child does not miss out on any of the fun in-visits, please make sure you give your consent via Compass. Thank you to those parents who have already done this.

Homework

Our Year 1 students demonstrated a strong homework routine in Term 3, completing their 1 lesson of Mathseeds and 4 nights of reading each week. We are hoping they can continue this into Term 4 with your ongoing support.

Please note that Sunday is the start of a new week when completing Mathseeds.

Uniform

Our students look exceptionally sharp in their school uniform! It's a delight to see them representing our school with such pride. Wearing the appropriate school uniform fosters a sense of connection and community. Please ensure that your child comes to school in the correct uniform. Now that we are in Term 4 the weather is suitable for the summer uniform if your child would like to wear it.

Year 2

Dates to Remember:

  • Tuesday 22 October: Author Mark Wilson In-Visit

Reminders:

Homework

Thank you for your continued support in instilling a strong homework routine for your child. The expectation is 1 lesson of Mathseeds completed a week (Sunday - Saturday). Please remember that Sunday starts the new week.

The other homework expectation is reading 4 nights for 15 minutes. This is to be written in your child's diary and signed. Diaries should come to school every day.

Year 3

Dates to Remember:

  • Friday 8 November: Basketball Gala Day @ MSAC
  • Wednesday 20 November: Pyrography In-Visit

Reminders:

School Hats

A reminder that in Term 4, it is the expectation that students wear their school hat when outside. If they do not have a hat, then they will be asked to play in the shade at recess and lunch. In future weeks, we will also be going outside during class time to conduct some of our learning. It is important that students have a hat available at all times, so they do not miss out on play or learning.

Year 4

Dates to Remember:

  • Thursday 24 October: Melbourne River Cruise Excursion
  • Friday 8 November: Basketball Gala Day @ MSAC

Reminders:

Melbourne River Cruise Excursion

Please ensure you read the email entitled 'IMPORTANT: River Cruise Excursion' sent on Friday 18th October for important information about our upcoming excursion. We will return from the excursion before lunch time so students may order a lunch order if they wish.

Year 5

Dates to Remember:

  • Tuesday 29 October: Maps and Mayhem In-Visit

Reminders:

Summer Hats

As we are now in Term 4, the expectation is for students to wear their summer hats. Students who do not have a hat will have to stay in the shade at recess and lunch times. Please put your child's name on their hat as this will make it easier to find if it gets lost.

Year 6

Dates to Remember:

  • Friday 8 November – Year 6 performance at Whole School Assembly

Reminders:

School Hats

As we are now in Term 4, it is essential for all students to bring and wear the school hat, during all outdoor activities and lunch breaks.

Extra Homework Expectations

In Year 6, we have begun the Guide to Thrive program. This is an evidence-based toolkit to help teachers guide students as they embark upon the exciting but sometimes daunting move to high school. Some work is required to be completed at home; we are asking for your support with extra homework expectations.

Whole School Assembly Performance

In week 5, Year 6 will be performing at the Whole School Assembly. Parents are invited to come and watch. We will put a link to the song and lyrics on Teams to encourage the students to practice at home, as well as in school.
