Term 3 Fun in Grade 1 !

As we wrap up an exciting term, we’re thrilled to share some of the highlights from our Grade 1 adventures.

Our young scientists had a blast exploring chemical sciences this term! They experimented with making jelly, created a Skittles rainbow and even observed a “cloud in a jar.” These hands-on activities sparked curiosity and encouraged our students to learn through play.

In the writing lessons, students delved into creating information reports about native Australian animals. They discovered fascinating facts and showed impressive creativity in their reports. Did you know a kangaroo is born the size of a jellybean?

The CBCA 2024 shortlisted picture books were celebrated as students listened to stories and participated in engaging follow-up activities. A crowd favourite was The Concrete Garden by Bob Graham - the students were overjoyed to create their own colourful chalk garden outside the Grade 1 building!

The Moving Monkeys gymnastics program was completed with great success. Students learned new skills, enhancing their strength, balance, and flexibility whilst having endless fun along the way.

We are proud of all their achievements this term and look forward to more exciting experiences in the coming months!
