NEWS & ADMINISTRATION

Mrs Caroline Galea

Dear Parents,

We are now at the end of Term 2 and starting to gear up for Term 3.  I hope that each and every one of our families enjoy the upcoming holidays and the children have the opportunity to rest. Term 3 is shaping up to be an exciting term.  Our Year 4 students will be going on camp and receiving their first Holy Communion (Eucharist), while  the whole school will begin dance sessions with Bree from Kinect2dance. This will eventually culminate in a whole school dance production in Term 4.  Our Story Time preschooler sessions will once again take place and before you know it, it will be the end of term 3.

I wish to take this opportunity to wish Leah, her partner Jordan and their daughter Amaya the best of luck with their new arrival.  I would also like to wish Peter K and his wife Eleni the best of luck on their first child.  I will keep you informed (and hopefully share some pictures) when these much loved babies are born.

As the weather just gets colder, just a reminder to ensure that your children are wearing the correct winter uniform.  Unless the children have a sporting activity on a specific day such as swimming or P.E class, then they are to be in winter uniform. There seems to be a lot of children wearing their sport uniform on days they should be wearing their winter uniform.   Once again, we are getting quite a collection of lost property, so please check the basket for your child's lost items, before purchasing any additional uniforms.

Earlier this term, on different days, a brand new size 10 windcheater (no name) & a brand new size 12 woollen jumper (no name) were found by me when I was on yard duty.

If you believe it could be your child/rens, please contact Leanne at the office.

To mark the beginning of the Olympics on Friday 26th of July, we will be holding a casual clothes day.  Please see flyer under P&F News for details.

Beanies

We are starting to see a myriad of multicoloured beanies.  If your child would like to wear a beanie, please ensure it is either the Holy Name beanie or plain dark blue.

Movie Tickets - P&F Initiative

The movie tickets have arrived and are now waiting in the office for payment and collection.   We've just been made aware that some families didn't realise that we had enough orders and were going ahead.  (You can also sell your own tickets to family & friends.)

P&F Cadbury Chocolate Fundraiser

The Cadbury fundraiser is definitely going ahead in early Term 3.

If you expressed interest and have now changed your mind, please let us know asap.

Reports

By now, you should all have accessed your child's mid year report.  If for some reason you did not receive an email or are unable to access your child's report, please let one of us know.  Should you need clarification on something in the report, please see your child's teacher.

Parent teacher interviews are scheduled for Thursday 29th August, on this day students will finish early.  This will be an opportunity for you to talk about the progress your child has made since these reports were written.

Canteen Helpers Needed

If you can spare a few hours on Fridays (or even Tuesdays) and you have a current WWC, we could really use your help in preparing the lunch orders, after morning drop off to 11am.   It doesn't have to be every week; leave your details with Leanne at the office and we'll add you to the roster.

We have a Canteen Manager (Antonietta) who will show you what to do.

Unfortunately, due to safety considerations, you are not able to bring toddlers/babies with you.

E-SAFETY

We are often asked about safety online. Please refer to the e-safety commission website which is a wealth of information.
