Lunchtime Concerts Continued
Term 2, 2024
The Riverina Conservatorium of Music’s Live@Lunch concert series has continued each week this term. Students have enjoyed concerts from “Rising Stars”, the Wicklow Irish Ensemble, and Hamish Tait. In the “Rising Stars” concert, we enjoyed a performance of the ‘Danse Macabre’ by Saint-Saens performed by former WWCC student Pearl Bowen. The Wicklow Irish Ensemble also featured two former students/teachers of the College – Kimberley Scriven and Rhiannon Xeros. This was a very enjoyable aural feast! Hamish Tait gave a great performance of works by Mozart, Beethoven and Gershwin, which was an excellent showcase of the huge concert grand piano acquired by the RCM.
“I loved hearing music from lots of young musicians in Wagga. It was amazing!”
“I loved the song ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, especially the cello part.”
“Twas very good and jiggy of sorts…”
“Energetic, lively, lovely.”
“It was amazing to hear the Rhapsody in Blue performed today, 100 years after it was composed.”
