Welcome

Strategic Plan Update

Last year, the College Board in consultation with staff, students and parents created a strategic plan for the next 5 years of Wagga Wagga Christian College. At the AGM held at the end of May, we launched the Strategic Plan and distributed a beautifully designed brochure of the plan to our community. To view the brochure please follow this link WWCC Strategic Plan by Community WWCC - Flipsnack. The brochure is designed by one of our parents Rachel Viski of Minta Viski, who I am sure you all will agree has done a wonderful job!

Over the first half of this year, the Executive Team and staff in conjunction with the Board have been working hard to begin the implementation of the Strategic Plan initiatives. I have summarised below some of the key initiatives that have been completed or commenced this year. One of the main activities is the establishment of the College values of Service, Hope, Respect, Excellence and Curiosity. Which you will begin to see appearing as themes in devotions, in the classroom and as you participate in school life over the coming years.

  1. Upholding our Christian Identity
    1. Currently in the process of recruiting a new Principal
    2. Leadership staff participating in Equipped to Lead - an aspiring senior leaders program through CEN
    3. Staff engaging in training in Transformation by Design - a curriculum planning resource published by CEN
    4. We have run several whole-staff events and programs to promote a one-school approach

  2. Promoting Preschool to Year 12 Educational Improvement
    1. Participating in a year-long whole school wellbeing program run through AISNSW to develop our wellbeing approach
    2. Participating in a two-year Effective Schools program through AISNSW to develop our use of data and developing a whole school project to improve student learning outcomes

  3. Providing appropriate resources
    1. Commenced our initial master planning process to improve our facilities, especially across Administration and Secondary School
    2. Investing in new systems across the College to improve our service provision
    3. Ongoing training for our staff in Preschool and Primary in the Reggio Emelia approach

  4. Community engagement
    1. The Board have participated in governance training from CEN and from AISNSW
    2. Planning is underway for a Company information evening
    3. New Community Team have planned and executed a number of new events such as ‘Muffins with Mum’ and family catch-ups

This is just scraping the surface of the many and varied activities that we are working on as part of the Strategic Plan and ongoing continuous improvement of the College so that we can fulfil our vision of ‘In Christ, partnering with families in providing excellent academic and practical education, preparing students to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly before God.’
