Year 5

NAPLAN 2024

Year 5 students completed the NAPLAN in Term 1. NAPLAN results were sent home with students in a sealed envelope addressed to parents last week. We hope you have had the opportunity to talk through the results with your child and celebrate their achievements. Please speak to your classroom teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

Swimming Program

The compulsory swimming program for Year 5 students is eight sessions in weeks 3 to 6 on Wednesday and Thursday, from Wednesday 31 July to Thursday 22 August. Students will attend a 45 minute session at the Huntingtower Sports and Aquatic Centre (HSAC) Swim School in Mount Waverley. 

Program details have been published on Compass. Consent and payment is due now and not later than Tuesday 30 July.

Parent volunteers from each class are required to assist children get ready to return to school. If you hold a current Working with Children Check, please let your child's teacher you're interested and available.

Sovereign Hill Excursion

The Year 5s will be visiting Sovereign Hill in Ballarat on Friday 9 August. 

Students are required to arrive at school at 7.30am, meeting in your classrooms prior to departure by bus at 7.45am sharp. We will eat dinner in Ballarat before returning to Melbourne, and expect to return to school by approximately 8.00pm.  

Excursion information has been published in Compass, including details of what to wear and bring on the day. Consent and payment is due now and not later than Wednesday 7 August.
