Grade 1 and 2 News

Term 3, Week 2

Key Dates & Reminders:

  • Melbourne Zoo: Please see Compass for permission and payment details. If you need support with this or if you have any questions regarding the excursion please contact your child's classroom teacher. Please also email your child's teacher by Friday 26th July if you are willing to attend as a parent volunteer.
  • Uniform: Please ensure your child is wearing school uniform each day as per our school uniform policy (which can be found on the school website).
  • Toys at school: We have had a number of students who are bringing toys to school, we discourage this where possible as it can become quite distracting for students during learning time and also a source of frustration if they become broken or lost.

What we have been up to...

Welcome back for term 3! Our students have settled back into classroom routines quickly, with all students demonstrating our school values often in the first week of term.

Students participated in activities relating to NAIDOC week. Our focus text was 'Our Home, Our Heartbeat', which looked at well known First Nations people. We spent the week researching and learning about famous First Nations Sports people who were mentioned throughout the book. It ties in nicely as we are looking at the Olympics over the next few weeks and many of the athletes studied are current or former Australian Olympians.

Whole-school Reward (end of term 2)

At the end of term 2 it was great to see students enjoying their whole-school reward, a Chipnic. They have voted for this term's reward and are eagerly awaiting the result!
