News and Notices

As another wonderful term draws to a close, we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday period!

We look forward to welcoming our students back for Term 3 on Monday, 8 July.  We treat the first day of each term as a celebration and our welcome area will be near the tennis courts.

Disco

Our P&C Disco last Friday night was a tremendous success.  Children had an incredible amount of fun dancing to the tunes of the DJ and enjoying time with their peers.

While children were at the disco, parents and caregivers relaxed in the fairy light lit waiting area, listening to music and grabbing a $1 sausage sizzle if they wanted to.  There was a relaxed and friendly community atmosphere that we absolutely loved!

Thank you to our P&C, volunteers and Team Tally staff who generously gave their time to make this event possible.  Our P&C members put an incredible amount of work into events like these behind the scenes and we appreciate them!

Thank you also to YMCA for doing a fabulous job on the BBQ and our Gold and Silver P&C Prosperity Partners, PRD Real Estate - John Fischer and Shelley Watkins, Cricks Tweed - the Harding family and Nurse Next Door - Glen and Lauren MacDonald for their ongoing support.

True community spirit was in action on the night with school families supporting local businesses at Man on the Bike.

Gala Day

We commend our Year 5 and Year 6 students for showing the Tally Way throughout our recent interschool sport, Gala Day.  They were excellent competitors through their participation, effort and outstanding attitudes.

Report Cards

Report cards were emailed to parents and caregivers yesterday.   We encourage families to discuss report cards with students and include an emphasis on the level of effort children have applied.  Progress interviews will be offered early next term.

Rock Band Performance

Our Rock Band rocked out at the Resin Café in Currumbin on Saturday 15 June!  Thank you Mr Gordon for leading this extra-curricular group and families for supporting it.  We are thrilled to be able to offer this very cool activity to our students.

Sports Days

Our Term 2 sports days were postponed as weather impacted the condition of our fields and prevented the necessary preparation.  We are looking forward to them early next term.

Advance Notice:  Book Character Costume Day

Our annual Book Character Costume day will be held in Week 6 of Term 3 (13 August).  Children are encouraged to dress in costume as their favourite book character on this date and enjoy a day celebrating the love of reading.  We ask that costumes are sun safe (e.g. no midriff tops) and closed in shoes, suitable for school activities are worn.

Reminders

  • Students need a uniform school hat every day.
  • Uniform shoes are plain black shoes (not boots) and white or coloured trim or laces are not permitted.
  • Label all belongings to allow the return of misplaced items.  This is particularly important for jumpers at this time of the year.

Wonderful Tallebudgera community, please keep a caring eye on our school.

Empty schools can become targets for unlawful entry, arson, stealing, graffiti and property damage, especially during school holiday periods. If you see anything of concern, please report it to school watch.  If there is an emergency, please call 000.

Thank you for helping!
