Yr 10 Duke of Edinburgh Voluntary Service

The Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh class have been busy working across Semester One completing voluntary service as a requirement of completing their Bronze Certificates. The class has been working in conjunction with the Friends of the Dell to complete maintenance and gardening works at Bellbird Dell Reserve and at Vermont Secondary College. Students have undertaken clearing, mulching and planting of native plant species and have gained insight into the amount of biodiversity and types of flora and fauna present in our local environments.

A recent highlight has been the planting of 200 Indigenous plants at the southern driveway entrance to the school of Morack Road. This garden, which was previously overrun with weeds, has been cleared and mulched and will provide by both increased biodiversity and habitat as well as a welcoming entrance to the school. Well done Duke of Ed students!
