Book Week is such an exciting time of year, and the students created their own posters to help get people excited to celebrate Book Week! The students had to base their poster around this year's Book Week theme: Reading is Magic!
The posters were entered into a little competition. Miss Zoe and myself were looking for unique ideas and detailed execution. One winner from each year level was chosen and they received a $10 voucher to spend at our book fair.
The winning posters are proudly on display in the school foyer.
Congratulations to our amazing winners, who worked incredibly hard:
This week, Year 1 and 2 students completed their final dance practice for the upcoming production. They’ve refined their choreography and incorporated constructive feedback to enhance their performance.
I’ve watched their skills and confidence grow each week. They’ve collaborated effectively, performed in front of their peers to build confidence, and are now ready for the big stage. Congratulations to all Year 1 and 2 students on your dedication and hard work, I’m excited to see your performance!
Years 3 and 4 started off Term 3 with basketball and have recently moved onto learning hockey skills. We are now starting to put all of the skills learnt into some match practise. Students are also learning how to umpire themselves (with support from the teacher). In 'Dribble Mayhem' we practised our close control by facing different obstacles.
Over the past two weeks, our Year 5 and 6 students wrapped up their units on body parts with an online quiz. Students are encouraged to practice at home, as we’ve also been having random quizzes outside the classroom. When they answer correctly, they receive special stickers as rewards. It’s fantastic to see their passion for learning Mandarin growing!
This week, we’ve been celebrating the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival. Students have learned about the story behind the festival, how it's celebrated in different countries, and even made their own paper mooncakes! It’s been a fun and enriching experience for everyone.
Last week the library was transformed into a Book Fair! Over four days, students and families visited the Book Fair to view and purchase books.
In total, over $6,500 was spent at the Book Fair. This raised just under $2,000 worth of books for our school.
A huge thank you goes to all the staff and family volunteers who assisted in the running of the Book Fair.
