Principal's Message

Our children are our future...

Principal's Message

Welcome to the last two weeks of Term 3. We have a wonderful culmination as our School Production is on Monday after school. We look forward to welcoming all children and families to the "Big Dance". A small number of families are yet to buy tickets so please get onto it asap so you and your kids don't miss out. Lots of work has gone into the event so your support is really appreciated. See your wonderful faces at the front door!

JSC Movie Fundraiser - Monday 16th September

The following is a message from Mr Ben who runs the Junior School Council (JSC):

The JSC is excited to announce a fundraising event. Students will watch a film that they have voted on with movie popcorn being provided on the day.  An optional donation will contribute towards "Mobilise" to help tackle homelessness in Victoria.

We have not put a set price on donations, but instead are asking families to donate what they can as every cent counts! Your child is welcome to bring along something comfy from home to sit on during the movie such as a small pillow if they wish. All students will also receive some popcorn!

Any queries feel free to email Mr Ben at benjamin.corns@smps.vic.edu.au

Footy Colours Day (Friday 20th September) 2:30pm Finish

With the footy finals in full swing (go Cats), we will celebrate the sporting vibe on the last day of school for Term 3. For a bit of sporting fun, we would like our students to wear their favourite sports gear - preferably AFL if they have it - to celebrate the finals. Don't buy anything extra, just support where you can with some sports gear on the day.

Parking at Pick up & Drop off

We’d like to remind everyone of the importance of parking safely and respectfully around our school, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. Unfortunately, we’ve noticed some unsafe practices, such as double parking and parking in no-stopping zones. This not only creates visual obstructions for other drivers but also makes it difficult for our crossing supervisors to ensure the safety of children as they navigate the busy roads.

While we understand that parking spaces are limited, the safety of our students must always come first. A huge thank you to the families who consistently follow the rules and set a great example for our students, and to our dedicated crossing supervisors who work hard to keep everyone safe.

We encourage families to park a little further from the school and enjoy a short walk to help ease congestion. The few extra minutes and the added exercise are well worth the effort to ensure everyone’s safety.

Thank you for your cooperation and ongoing support.
