Year 3/4 Learning Reflection

The Grade 3/4 students are now halfway through our class serial read of 'Kensuke’s Kingdom'. They’re enjoying the story and using each chapter title to predict what will happen next. After reading the chapter, they summarised what we had read.

This week, Grade 3/4 students are taking swimming lessons at Brimbank Leisure Centre to learn an important life skill.

4A and 4B have displayed their published newspapers. If you're in Building B, come by and check them out!

In Maths, grades 3 and 4 students have been doing Daily Reviews to reinforce the concepts they've learned throughout the year.

Grade 3/4 students are learning about sustainable transport. This week, 4B focused on buses and have been taking notes on the new things they've learned.

In handwriting, students from 4A and 3A were doing dictation with a text containing words with the /ie/ sound. After writing the sentences, they underlined all the words that included the /ie/ sound.

This week in Writing, we adjusted our sessions a bit due to swimming. Students in 3A and 4A were given a task where they had to brainstorm as many words as they could that contained the /ae/ sound. Their goal was to come up with more words than Miss Stokes before the 5-minute timer ran out. Petra was the winner, managing to list 41 words with the /ae/ sound.
